What is the difference between a hosted and a parked domain name?

A hosted domain name has it's direcrory where files should be uploaded and served by the web server. This is a regulary hosted domain name. A parked domain name will not have a directory where files will be uploaded, but will simply point to another web site. When adding additional domain names to your web hosting account please make sure you know if you want to host them or simply point them to another domain.
