My .htaccess files do not work anymore. Why?

FrontPage is known not to be compatible with existing .htaccess files. If you want to take advantage of .htaccess features you will need to use FTP instead for uploading your website files to the server. Installing FrontPage extensions on a web site that already has .htaccess files will have the files automatically renamed to maintain functionality. Please refer to Google and the newsgroups for further details about .htaccess files and FrontPage compatibility.
