My files on the server have wrong permissions. How do I change them?

Your files on the server get their permissions by the FTP client you are using to upload them. You may use your FTP client to update the permissions of any files on the server. You may also check your FTP program settings to modify the default permissions your client sets for files that are uploaded to the server.
Generally, mode 644(-rw-r--r--)or 640(-rw-r-----) would be just fine for your files. Please remember to keep all your files readable for the group so that the web server can read them in order to display them on the WWW.
