 There is only one reason why your e-mail messages could be downloading slowly from the pop3 mail server. Please check your mail client software "leave mail on server" option and make sure it is turned OFF.
 When there are a lot of messages stored on the server it takes more time for your mail client to download the full list of messages and determine which ones are old and which are new and need to be downloaded to your computer.
